Shrink The City
Discovering new restaurants in London is both easy and hard. Easy because I can head to Soho, walk around for an hour, and probably end up with a list of at least 5 places I need to eat at asap. Hard because things open and close all the time, how do you even keep track? I mean going to work, working, and then coming home is sometimes a struggle in itself, so where on that route am I going to hear of that awesome little place that I just HAVE to try. Definitely yes, from friends, that’s for sure, but then where? Cue the multiple windows open on my phone. I’ve got Infatuation open, Opentable open, Bookatable open, Resy open, Time Out on the go, oh and Secret London just posted something on Facebook which looks fabulous, but phew I’m overwhelmed.
So then I said to myself, wouldn’t it be so genius if it were just all in one place, super easy to just filter for what I want, check out the menu and book it. I know what you’re thinking, surely that already exists. Well yeah sure, go ahead and Google ‘Best restaurants in London for dinner’, and enjoy surfing 400 web pages.
I wanted to finally be able to answer that question, ‘Hey, where can I go for dinner in *insert random area of London that I hardly visit* with friends, you’re the foodie what do you recommend’. What if all the information was just in the palm of my hand. A place I could explore hundreds of bars and restaurants without 500 tabs open and know that each and every one of those places was vetted by people who ACTUALLY care not just about the food, but the service, and ambience too. I mean, what if I just want a place that was nearby my office that had a chilled but still lively vibe and offered veggie options? Oh and somehow I got a heads up as to what not to miss on the menus? Sounds pretty good doesn’t it?
Yeah, we thought so too. Everything you need all in once place, curated by us for you, filterable for the pickiest, and inspiring for the most wild-at-heart. London is huge, so we made a product to make eating out in it just a bit more manageable. We’re on a mission to Shrink the City.
