Switching It Up A Bit
As a small business ourselves, we feel the strain that the hospitality industry is currently under. Déjà Vu is built for discovery and we still want to bring you content that will help you discover London - just in a new light.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing a variety of exciting items such as our own recipes to make the most of your stockpile, shout-out dishes at restaurants we love, or chronicles of the home bar so you can whip up cocktails (almost) like a pro.
However, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, it would be irresponsible of us to endorse going out as normal and ignore the facts presented to us. Though no official plans have been put in place, social distancing is the best way for us all to protect the more vulnerable and help lighten the load for our healthcare workers. However, that doesn't mean that your love of food should be compromised.
It's a time for kindness and support. Whether it's helping a vulnerable neighbour, staying in if you don't feel great or supporting your favourite restaurants & small business from afar.
Many London restaurants are operating as normal; some are revising this daily, whilst others have switched to a delivery-only service for the time being.
Our Top Tips To Support Restaurants
1. Buying restaurant vouchers directly from the restaurant to be used later will provide money to restaurants that may, right now, be feeling the financial pressure of all of this.
2. Ordering your favourite dish as delivery still benefits the business, you're just having to experience their hospitality in the comfort of your own home.
3. Keep it local - rather than ordering from a big chain, why not give your favourite neighbourhood restaurant a call and see if they can prepare your food for collection.
Support Déjà Vu & Small Businesses
Supporting us and our passion to showcase food can be as easy as following us on Instagram, Getting in touch to tell us your favourite meal or restaurant you can’t wait to experience again, asking friends/family/colleagues who love eating out to download the app to use in the future, or just read our Guides over lunch.
Déjà Vu is still running as usual and is still optimised for finding new spots. Save & share them with friends for later. Dedicate a little time to filling up your Favourites page with the places that you can't wait to go to when the time is right.
We love hearing from you so give us a shout or tag us in your food pics @dejavuapp.
Stay safe and thank you for your continued support.
Best,
